How Oregon Medical Weight Loss Works

Our medical providers have years of experience in primary and preventive care medicine and all have a true commitment to using evidence-based, scientifically supported methods that have been proven to work. Using the latest technology, we are able to calculate your body composition, determine your daily caloric needs and provide you with a customized, comprehensive and holistic “plan of action” that takes into account your individual medical history and risks as well as your personal needs.

All OMWL physician-directed weight loss plans include the following:

  • Laboratory screening for and then treatment of the underlying medical factors that often are the hidden but powerful root causes of, or significant contributors to, gaining weight.
  • Body Composition Analysis to evaluate and monitor that weight loss comes from unwanted, body fat reserves – not valuable, metabolically active muscle tissue.
  • Medication adjustments, when appropriate, since many medications have a tendency towards weight retention but may be safely substituted for others that do not.
  • Careful monitoring and supervision of changes in multiple medical parameters such as blood pressure or blood sugar that may need regular, medical adjustment.
  • Lifestyle and behavior change via research-based, motivational coaching.
  • Science-based activity recommendations.
  • Prescription appetite management, when indicated, if medically approved and appropriate.

After your initial consultation, your provider may prescribe one of the following plans and personalize it to your specific needs and preferences.

  1. Plan 1 – Accelerated or Accelerated Plus – The Accelerated plan includes six weeks of one-on-one visits with your weight loss medical expert, medical tests that monitor your weight loss progress, and a high-nutrition, calorie-controlled food plan. Accelerated Plus also includes vitamin regulation, participation in Behavioral Coaching and a personalized plan to Get Moving.
  2. Plan 2 – LCD or Modified LCD – The Low Calorie Diet (LCD) is a high-nutrition, calorie-controlled plan that your provider will prescribe for you and monitor closely. The Modified LCD is the same plan but adjusted to include a calorie-specific dinner that may include some of your favorite foods.
  3. Plan 3 – Appetite Suppressant – When appropriate, you may support your weight loss plan with an appetite suppressant prescribed and monitored by your specially trained weight loss provider.

Is this weight loss proglam include liquid (protein) , protein bar, phentermin, excercise and 1200 calorie or less, that kind of systems? or using HCG , low calorie diet? Would you please provide me more information. Thank you

There are options at Oregon Medical Weight Loss. The Low Calorie diet does include protein shakes, protein bars, even soups and chips high in protein, with a daily calorie intake of 800-1,200. All plans are medically monitored. We do NOT use HCG. Phentermine is an appetite suppressant that our clinicians only prescribe when inquired about and only when provided a current EKG, with health conditions allowing for the prescription. We also offer a format that includes weekly exercise, lectures and weigh-ins…many tools in our weight loss toolbox!

Thanks for the question Evalani, and what a beautiful name. No, we do not have a weight loss clinic in Eugene. We have one location in Tigard, OR.
